Physical Education / Health

We are approaching winter, which means we are beginning the annual Health unit. Students will be learning about various health topics, such as: Nutrition, Drugs & Alcohol, Self-Concept, Safety, Disease Prevention, Bullying, and Exercise / Sportsmanship. Each grade level will be taught developmentally appropriate material once a week for thirteen weeks.

Later on in the winter, the P.E. classes will be participating in JUMP ROPE FOR HEART, in which we will need volunteers. If you would like to volunteer, we will be sending out more information closer to the date.

In early spring, we look forward to A.C.E.S. (All Children Exercise Simultaneously) when we teach the children several dances and perform these dances in front of the whole school, in which you all can come in and watch. We also look forward to Field Day at the end of the year and hope to see a lot of you there. We had a great turn-out of volunteers last year and are very grateful for that. We hope to see you again.

We look forward to a great rest of the year with your children and hope to enhance your children’s knowledge of health and living a physically active lifestyle.

                                      Thank you,

                                      Melanie Liseo
